How to store your own UPS contract in Shipcloud

From our Professional subscription you can integrate your own UPS contract in Shipcloud.


In this article you will learn how to deposit your own UPS contract with us and connect your Shipcloud account to the UPS interface.

Check access data for UPS

For your UPS configuration you need the following data:

  • Username/password

  • UPS Account-Nummer

  • (UPS Billing Account Number)

Username and password are the access data for your "My UPS" account. You will receive your account number from UPS upon contract conclusion. The billing account number only needs to be entered if the UPS account number of the invoice recipient is different from the account number of the shipper.

📌 Please note that you cannot use UPS Campusship or Worldship Accounts in connection with Shipcloud.

How can I store the new UPS configuration in my Shipcloud account?

Here you will find step-by-step instructions on how to easily add the new UPS configuration to your Shipcloud account. Once you have added the new configuration, Shipcloud will automatically perform the migration for you to avoid any disruption to your shipping with UPS.

Based on the time of your registration with Shipcloud, we will provide you with further information below on how to store your UPS contract in the Shipcloud WebUI.


* Note for customers who ship with the shipping service providers Hermes, iloxx or Asendia. To store the new configuration, please follow the step-by-step instructions: Registration before August 02, 2022.


Registration from August 2, 2022

How to enter your contract data for UPS

Step-by-step guide

  1. Simply log in to your Shipcloud account and select Carriers.

  2. Now click on the blue button to the right of the shipping service provider UPS.

  3. Enter your UPS Account Number* in the field marked in red and then click on Save and activate.

    *Note: The UPS account number always consists of 6 alphanumeric character, without leading zeros and must be entered in capital letters.

    📌 Good to know: The Billing Account Number field only needs to be filled in if the account number of the invoice recipient does not correspond to the account number used for the shipment. If the field is filled in, this would mean that the costs of the shipment are not booked to the shipper's account number, but to the UPS account number of a third party (“Bill Third Party”).
    If you want to use Bill Third Party, it is important that the Billing Account Number (different from the UPS account number) is entered.

  4. You will now be automatically redirected to the UPS website. Enter your e-mail or user name here and check the box below. Then click on Continue.


  5. In the last step, enter your password and click on Log In.

  6. After successfully logging in, you will be automatically redirected to the Shipcloud page Carriers. Here you will now temporarily see both UPS configurations (the new and the old).



Registration before August 2, 2022

How to store your contract data for UPS

If you have registered with Shipcloud before August 2, 2022, please contact our support team first and we will activate your own configuration for UPS.

After activation, you will receive a confirmation email from us and you will then find your configuration in your Shipcloud account under "Configurations" >> "Carriers" >> "UPS". Deposit and save your access data for UPS there.

📌 Please note that once you have activated your own UPS configuration, you no longer have access to the Shipcloud business rates for UPS.


Step-by-step guide

  1. Simply log in to your Shipcloud account and select Configurations >> Carriers.

  2. Now click on the blue button to the right of the shipping service provider UPS to make the change here. Note: Temporarily, both UPS configurations (the old and the new) are displayed.

  3. Now click on the blue button Authenticate with UPS.

  4. You will now be automatically redirected to the UPS website. Enter your e-mail or user name here and check the box below. Then click on Continue.

  5. In the next step, enter your password and click on Log In.

  6. After successfully logging in, you will be automatically redirected to the Shipcloud Carrier configuration page. Finally, enter your UPS account number* in the Accountnumber field marked in red and then click OK.

  7. The configuration has now been successfully completed.


UPS shipping with own contract in connection with Shipcloud

Shipping conditions and billing

After successful configuration, you automatically ship at your own UPS business rates. Your individual agreements will then apply with regard to, among other things:

  • transport insurance

  • the (regular) collection / drop-off at UPS Access Points,

  • worldwide / international shipping, also outside the EU.

📌 Please note that you will then no longer have access to the Shipcloud business rates for UPS and Shipcloud will then no longer be able to show you any prices (for UPS), as our system does not have access to this part of your contract. You can view your shipping conditions in your UPS account or request them from your account manager.

You will be billed directly by UPS for your shipping labels. You will only receive a monthly invoice from Shipcloud for the use of our service (basic and transaction fees) and for the shipping labels created at Shipcloud business rates with other carriers.

Integrated shipping methods and additional services

For your UPS shipping with your own contract, the following shipping methods and additional services are available. These apply to shipping from Germany.

With your own UPS contract you can also use Shipcloud from all over the world. Thus, your default sender's address does not have to be in Germany.

UPS Standard
Service for less urgent shipments to destinations in Germany as well as within the EU, LI, NO and CH

To use UPS standard, book "standard" in the Shipcloud webUI or transmit it in your API Request.

UPS Expedited

Service for less urgent shipments outside the EU, LI, NO and CH

To use UPS Expedited, book "ups_expedited" in the Shipcloud webUI or transmit it in your API Request.

UPS Express Saver¹

Express service for international shipping

To use UPS Express Saver (for delivery by the end of the next working day), book "one_day" in the Shipcloud webUI or transmit it in your API Request.

Express service for national shipping

To use UPS Express 12:00 (for delivery by 12:00 on the next working day), book "ups_express_1200" in the Shipcloud webUI or transmit it in your API Request.

UPS Express*

Express service for international shipping

To use UPS Express ((for delivery by 10:30 within Germany or 12:00 for most european business addresses on the next working day), book "ups_one_day_early" in the Shipcloud webUI or transmit it in your API Request.

Service for national and international returns

To use UPS Returns, book "returns" in the Shipcloud webUI or transmit it in your API Request.

📌 Please note, however, that these are standard delivery times. Time specifications of the carriers are not a guarantee and may vary, depending on the destination of your shipment. Please contact your UPS representative for further details.

You can easily generate UPS return labels for international shipments yourself via plugin/API or Shipcloud webUI and add them as enclosures to your shipments. In addition, you can grant your customers access to our Return Portal, where they can request and print return labels on their own. Returns generated via the Return Portal can only be used within Germany.
