How do I create a return with Shipcloud?

You can create return labels either directly via our interface (API), through your Shipcloud account, via the return portal, or by using our return solution.

Via the Shipcloud API

To find out whether and how return label creation works in your shop, ERP, or inventory management system, please contact the provider of your plugin or system directly.

If you're using a custom integration with Shipcloud, you’ll find examples of how to structure a request to our API in our Developer Documentation.

Via the Shipcloud Account

There are two ways to create a return shipment within your Shipcloud account:

  1. Based on an already existing shipment

  2. As a custom return shipment

Creating a return shipment based on an existing shipment:

Go to your Shipments Dashboard, select the shipment, and then click on “Create Return”.

This allows you to quickly generate a return label for a shipment that has already been processed.

Creating a custom return shipment:

To create a custom return, go to Shipping > Create Shipment and click the “Create Return” button.

This allows you to manually configure the return shipment. You can:

  • Select the shipping service provider

  • Enter a custom reference number

  • Adjust the return address

  • Modify your own sender address if needed

This option gives you full flexibility when generating return labels.

By clicking the blue “Create Shipment” button, you will receive the return label for printing.
You can also conveniently access the label at any time in your Shipment Dashboard.

Via the Return Portal

You can manage return shipments through the return portal.

This allows you to provide your customers with a link so they can independently create a return label themselves.

For more details on how the returns portal works, please refer to this article.

Via the Return Solution

Starting from the Grow subscription, you can have our return solution activated for your account.

To do so, please contact our Customer Service, who will be happy to assist you with further information.
