In this article you will learn how to easily connect and set up the Shipcloud Connector with your Shopware 6 backend.

In this article 👇

1. Download the Shipcloud Connector for Shopware 6 Cloud

Simply download the Shipcloud Connector for Shopware 6 from our plugin download page. Please note that there are two different plugins for Shopware 6.

For Shopware 6.0 to 6.5.x you need the plugin version v2.2.7 and for Shopware 6.6.x the plugin version v2.6.0.

Then upload the received zip file in your Shopware backend under "Extensions" >> "Store" >> "My extensions" >> "Upload extension" .

Install the Shipcloud Connector for Shopware 6 to connect it to your Shopware online shop and easily ship parcels directly from your Shopware backend using the major carriers.

In this overview, you have the option to deactivate the Shipcloud app without having to completely uninstall it right away by sliding the switch to the left.

If you click on the three dots on the right, a dropdown menu will open with more options. Click on "Open extension" to go to the settings of the Shipcloud app.

On the page that opens, you can enter your API key and configure the Shipcloud app individually.

2. Connect your Shipcloud account with Shopware 6

To be able to connect both systems, you need your Shipcloud API key. In your Shipcloud account, click on your email address in the top right corner, select "API Key" from the dropdown menu and copy the top API key (for your live environment).

Good to know: If you only want to test the technical functions of Shipcloud, you will need the Sandbox API key. However, this only allows you to create test shipping labels.

Then add your API key in the "API Schlüssel" field in your Shopware 6 backend and click "Save". It may be necessary to perform a hard refresh to clear the cache and reload the page so that your API key is read and applied correctly.

3. Configure your Shipcloud Connector for Shopware 6

You can make individual adjustments in the menu item "Einstellungen" ("Settings") of the Shipcloud app.

Standard-Versanddienstleister (Default-carrier)

Set here which carrier, service and package type should be set as default or pre-filled when creating a shipping label.

Paketgrößen (Package sizes)

Store your package sizes or package templates here. This way you can specify the standard dimensions of your shipping boxes and do not have to enter them manually when creating the label. To do this, click on "Neue Paketgröße hinzufügen" ("Add new package size").

In the input mask that opens, enter a name for the package template and the associated package dimensions. If you want to use one of your package templates as a pre-filled standard template when creating a shipping label, check the box. Finally, click "Speichern" ("Save") to apply your settings. If you do not want to store any default package dimensions, you can skip this step.

After you have deposited and saved your package template, it will be displayed in the overview and can be edited and deleted there.

Fulfillment-Einstellungen (Fulfillment settings)

Define a placeholder or liquid var as reference for the package description. This is automatically transferred to us via API and printed on the shipping label. Then click on Speichern" ("Save").

Good to know: Click on the code icon to see all available placeholders. For example, if you select {{$orderNumber}} as the placeholder, the reference number assigned to a specific order will be used.

Zollangaben (Customs settings)

Deposit here standard information for your dutiable shipments in the fields "Inhalt" ("Content") and "Ursprungsland" ("Country of origin"). Enter information about the article in the field "Inhaltsbeschreibung" ("Content description") or alternatively use a liquid var as reference.

In addition, tick the checkbox "Zollerklärung generieren vorausgewählt" ("Generate customs declaration preselected") to specify whether a customs declaration should be generated for all your shipments. Finally, click on "Speichern" ("Save") so that your settings are applied.

Bankverbindung (Bank account)

Store your bank details for the additional service "Cash on delivery" here.

Good to know: You can only select this additional service when using your own DHL, GLS and/or UPS contract.
