On January 1st, 2021, the regulations for international shipping with DHL will change.

  • From January 1st, 2021, international DHL shipments to non-EU countries will need an electronic data record in addition to the physical customs documents, including all customs-related information.

  • Missing, incomplete or incorrect data records can lead to delivery delays or chargeable returns.

To ensure that your international shipments meet the new requirements on time from January 1st, 2020, we will already implement them on December 15, 2020.

Please use the Shipcloud function to create the required customs documents together with the shipping label from then on. This is the only way to ensure that our interface can record and forward the electronic customs information that is absolutely necessary for DHL.

This function has been available in your Shipcloud webUI for a long time. You can read here how to create the customs documents together with the label.

However, if you create the label via a connection to your shop, WaWi or ERP backend, please inquire with the manufacturer of the connection (integration or plug-in) whether this function has already been installed or will be added later.

You can find the contact persons for the individual plug-ins on our website.

The following integrations and plug-ins provide this function already:

Amicron, shopify, WooCommerce, Shopware.

If you use Shipcloud with a self-programmed API connection, please implement the creation of customs documents as described in our developer documentation.
