You can use this carrier with your own contract from our Professional subscription.

In this article you will learn everything you need to know about the new UPS configuration and how you can connect your Shipcloud account to the new UPS interface.

In this article👇

What is changing?

UPS has implemented an OAuth 2.0 security model for all APIs to increase overall security for customers, reduce fraud and provide improved API functionality.

UPS has extended the deadline for migration to OAuth 2.0. Originally, the old configuration was no longer to be available from June 3, 2024. To give customers who ship with UPS more time for the migration, the old configuration will be switched off on July 10, 2024 and shipments can then only be booked via the new configuration.

To avoid disruption to your services, we urge you to switch to the new UPS configuration as soon as possible and authenticate via OAuth 2.0.

Further information regarding the new UPS configuration can also be found directly at UPS: Access Key to OAuth 2.0 Migration Guide

What data do I need?

You need the following data for your UPS configuration:

  • Username/Password

  • UPS Account Number

The username and password are the access data for your "My UPS" account. You will receive your account number from UPS when you sign the contract.

How can I store the new UPS configuration in my Shipcloud account?

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to easily add the new UPS configuration to your Shipcloud account. Once you have added the new configuration, Shipcloud will automatically perform the migration for you to avoid any disruption to your shipping with UPS.

Based on the time of your registration with Shipcloud, we will provide you with further information below on how to deposit your UPS contract in the Shipcloud WebUI.

* Note for customers who ship with the shipping service providers Hermes, iloxx or Asendia. To store the new configuration, please follow the step-by-step instructions: Registration before August 02, 2022.

Registration before August 2, 2022

Step-by-step guide

  1. Simply log in to your Shipcloud account and select Configurations >> Carriers.

  2. Now click on the blue button to the right of the shipping service provider UPS to make the change here. Note: Temporarily, both UPS configurations (the old and the new) are displayed.

  3. Now click on the blue button Authenticate with UPS.

  4. You will now be automatically redirected to the UPS website. Enter your e-mail or user name here and check the box below. Then click on Continue.

  5. In the next step, enter your password and click on Log In.

  6. After successfully logging in, you will be automatically redirected to the Shipcloud Carrier configuration page. Finally, enter your UPS account number* in the Accountnumber field marked in red and then click OK.

*Note: The UPS account number always consists of 6 alphanumeric character, without leading zeros and must be entered in capital letters.

📌 Good to know: The Billing Account Number field only needs to be filled in if the account number of the invoice recipient does not correspond to the account number used for the shipment. If the field is filled in, this would mean that the costs of the shipment are not booked to the shipper's account number, but to the UPS account number of a third party (“Bill Third Party”).
If you want to use Bill Third Party, it is important that the Billing Account Number (different from the UPS account number) is entered.

  7. The configuration has now been successfully completed.
